Real Madrid are set for a significant shake-up in their squad for the upcoming season. The team will be without some of the names that played the last season and will have other names that the club believes will help them in the seasons ahead.

The legendary Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema, has left the club and joined the Saudi side Al-Ittehad for the upcoming season. Other important attacking players, including Eden Hazard, Mariano Diaz, and Marco Asensio have also played their last games for the club, and would no longer be in the squad in the next season.

As a result, Real Madrid have a lot of work on their hands to reform their attacking line before the 2023-24 season starts. Currently, only Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes are the reliable attackers in the squad, and several signings will have to be made in the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to AS, one of the players identified by the club to complement the attack is the Villareal winger Samuel Chukwueze. The report mentions that Real Madrid have approached Villareal to investigate the player’s availability.

The player has a contract with the Yellow Submarines which will end next summer, and Villareal can be persuaded to part with the player now if they want to get something in return for him. Thus, Real Madrid are aiming to get the 24-year-old for around €40 million this summer.

The Nigerian forward has made 37 appearances in the league for Villareal this season, accumulating 2349 minutes, in which he scored 6 goals and gave 5 assists. In total, the player has scored 13 goals and given 11 assists in 50 games for the club.

His performance at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid particularly caught the eye of the club’s executives, as he scored 2 goals and terrorized Nacho throughout the match.

While not the most shining player in the market, Samuel Chukwueze would definitely be a great addition to the Real Madrid squad. His pace and skills, coupled with his experience of playing in La Liga, will help Ancelotti bring more variety to the attack the next season if the transfer materializes.
