Official: Real Madrid squad for UEFA Champions League match against Union Berlin

Following Girona’s sensational victory over FC Barcelona, Real Madrid drop down to the 2nd position in the league with 39 points. Now, they return to UEFA Champions League action as they travel to Germany for their final group stage fixture against Union Berlin.

Real Madrid are all but guaranteed the top spot in the group after winning 5 out of 5 matches up to now, and would look to go into the Round of 16 as an unbeaten side. Despite this fixture being just a formality, the Merengues have named a strong squad for the match against the German side.

Carvajal is out due to injury while youngsters Mario Martin and the impressive Nico Paz will keep their place in the squad. Jude Bellingham has scored in all the 4 games he’s started in the competition, taking his tally to 4 goals and 2 assists. He would also aim to end the group stages on a high and contribute to yet another victory.

Eder Militao, Thibaut Courtois, Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Arda Güler will be out of this fixture due to their respective injuries. Vinicius, Tchouameni, Güler, and Carvajal are expected to be back for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.
