The current season is coming to an end as Real Madrid have already won the league title, and have only five matches remaining in this term, four in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund which will drop the curtain on the Merengues’ 2023-24 season.
Then, it will be some months before Los Blancos can see their team back in action, but these fans will still have a lot to look up to in the summer as there are two big events scheduled for the coming months, i.e., the UEFA EURO 2024 and the 2024 Copa America.
Several Real Madrid players will be starring for their national teams, and looking to get some international glory before returning for club duties.
This is especially true for Brazil, whose team will be one of the favorites for this year’s Copa America edition, and one which will have a significant representation of Real Madrid in its ranks.
This is clear from the squad list that the Selecao has published for the upcoming tournament, in which, according to Mundo Deportivo, there are three Merengue stars featuring, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, and Eder Militao.
The former key Brazil player, Neymar Jr., has not been called up for this tournament, and in his absence, it is clear that Vinicius will be the star of the team. He will be accompanied in the attack by his teammate, Rodrygo Goes, and also his future teammate at Real Madrid, Endrick, who is also a part of this squad.
The Barcelona winger Raphinha is another notable name in the Selecao’s attacking line, along with the Girona sensation Savinho, and the Arsenal star, Gabriel Magalhaes.
Militao has been called up for this mega event despite the fact that he has not been able to play throughout this season with an ACL injury. However, Dorival Junior, the Brazilian coach, was sure that the defender will be able to get back to his best by the time this competition starts.
Another notable absence from the squad was the former Real Madrid midfielder, Casemiro, who is struggling this season at Manchester United. Barcelona’s gem, Vitor Roque, also missed out on this list as he is not having a very good first season at the Catalan club.
