Modric 7.5, Tchouameni 8.0 | RCD Mallorca 0-1 Real Madrid: Player ratings

Date:

With a narrow victory against Mallorca – courtesy of Aurelien Tchouameni’s long-range goal – Real Madrid further assert their dominance over the league table, moving to 78 points.

It was a solid defensive performance by the backline but an underwhelming effort from the attack, especially in the 2nd half when they were unable to find the back of the net.

Most of the regular starters started the game from the bench with Vinicius, Camavinga, Carvajal, and Militao coming on later in the second half.

Here is how the Real Madrid players fared in the 0-1 victory against Mallorca.

Player Ratings:

Andriy Lunin: 7.5

A way better performance from the Ukrainian as compared to the midweek game against Manchester City. Cleared some dangerous crosses and counterattacks and made 2 saves. A well-deserved clean sheet.

Lucas Vazquez: 7.0

Good performance from the Spaniard. Did not let the Mallorca attackers get through easily and made some decent overlapping runs in the opposition half as well. Proved once against to be an able backup for Dani Carvajal.

Antonio Rudiger: 8.0

Another splendid defensive performance from the German after pocketing Erling Haaland in the 1st leg against Manchester City. Was breathing down the neck of Mallorca’s attack and even put in some crosses for Madrid’s forward line.

Nacho: 6.5

Decent performance but could have done better. Showed signs of struggle against the physically imposing Vedat Muriqi.

Ferland Mendy: 7.0

The Frenchman was solid at the back. Did not overdo stuff and kept it simple. Was not challenged much by the opposition players.

Aurelien Tchouameni: 8.0

Scored the only goal of the game following a stunning long-range effort. Defensively solid as well. A shame that he will be missing the 2nd leg against the Blues next week.

Fede Valverde: 7.0

Made his 44th start in as many games this season. Still, did not stop running throughout the match. Overall, a good all-round performance from the Uruguayan.

Luka Modric: 7.5

Received a standing ovation from the rival fans as well when he was substituted. Exceptional performance yet again following his midweek cameo. Hard to come to terms with the fact that he may be leaving at the end of the season.

Jude Bellingham: 7.0

A better show as compared to the 1st leg performance against the Citizens. Almost gave Real Madrid the lead in the first half as his shot hit the crossbar.

Joselu: 6.5

A performance that could have been better if he was able to finish his chances in the final third. Made some good runs inside the box.

Brahim Diaz: 7.0

A lively performance from the Moroccan national. Made a brilliant run in the 1st half but lost control. Should have scored after Modric set him up nicely. Tends to overdo stuff at times.

Substitutes:

Vinicius Junior: 7.0

A good cameo after being brought on in the 63rd minute. Was on the verge of scoring from a very difficult angle.

Eduardo Camavinga: 6.5

The Frenchman added some energy in the midfield and the team began to create more chances after his introduction.

Dani Carvajal: N/A

Not enough time to make an impact.

Eder Militao: N/A

Not enough time to warrant a rating after being brought on in stoppage time.
