After having secured the league title mathematically after their win over Cadiz and Barcelona’s defeat to Girona, Real Madrid returned to play one of the four remaining matches in La Liga last night as they faced Granada, a side whose relegation was confirmed a few hours before kick-off.

Despite fielding a heavily rotated side, the Merengues were able to come out as comfortable victors from this match. Brahim Diaz scored two goals while Fran Garcia and Arda Gulder also got on the score sheet.

This goal would have been a special one for the Turk, as he has now scored three goals in his last three starts, despite not getting a lot of minutes on the pitch earlier in the season. Previously, he was also linked with a loan move away from the club because of this scarcity of minutes.

However, the youngster’s comments after the match, which have been reported by Mundo Deportivo, hinted that this might not be necessary now, as he emphasized the degree of his adaptation and happiness in his new team:

“Now I have a lot of confidence, I’m fully adapted to the team and the league. I’m happy and I hope it gets better from here.”

The Turkish midfielder also highlighted how Real Madrid is always hungry for a win, and shared the reason why the team did not celebrate this victory too much:

“We prepared ourselves in the best possible way. Real Madrid always aims to win, and today we achieved a clear victory. We didn’t celebrate much because our opponent had been relegated.”

Having already wrapped up the league title, Real Madrid will celebrate their triumph with their fans with the traditional victory parade at Cibeles today and Guler wanted every fan to be present at that event:

“It’s going to be the first time for me and for many teammates. We’re really looking forward to celebrating it with the fans, and we invite everyone to be at Cibeles.”

With these comments, Guler might have laid to rest any rumors of him leaving Real Madrid on a loan this summer. Although he has been putting in very impressive performances in the last few weeks, the competition in the attacking positions next season might still make getting minutes difficult for him, so he will have to keep working hard and showing his talent.
