Real Madrid currently have one of the most threatening squads in Europe, but this squad is going to improve even further in the coming summer as the Merengues look to add Kylian Mbappe to the equation.

The French star is one of the best players in the world currently, and his arrival will definitely improve the team’s attack. However, Carlo Ancelotti has a lot of work on his hands to find out the best way to fit the current PSG attacker into his team without compromising the other high-performing options available to him.

In this regard, Diario AS has identified three possible systems that the Real Madrid head coach can use to maximize the output of his team while integrating Mbappe with his current attacking and midfield options.

From the fans’ perspective, the most compelling option would be that of a 4-3-3 formation, with Vinicius and Rodrygo on the wings, and Mbappe in the center. The Frenchman has already been used in the center-forward position by Luis Enrique this season, and his output has been highly encouraging.

This attacking line will be supported by a midfield of Bellingham, Valverde, and one of Tchouameni or Camavinga. This setup will provide the club with a highly potent attacking line, while the lungs of the midfield will also provide enough defensive cover, but one of Tchouameni or Camavinga will have to sit on the bench.

The second option for Ancelotti would be to keep the current 4-4-2 formation with Bellingham as the most advanced midfielder. The Vinicius and Mbappe pairing up top will receive significant attacking support from Bellingham in such a scheme, but Rodrygo Goes will have to be sacrificed.

In the midfield, Camavinga, Valverde, and Tchouameni can all play, but this formation will not be as defensively astute, and will ask for a lot of defensive contributions from the front two.

Lastly, the Real Madrid gaffer can play another variant of the 4-4-2 formation, but this time with Bellingham and Valverde playing more widely, and Vinicius and Mbappe taking their position near the box. Camavinga and Tchouameni duo can play as the double pivot, similar to how Ancelotti has used Kroos and Valverde this season.

With the midfield more spread out, this scheme will provide a lot of defensive solidity to the team, and would not require the front two to come back as much as the previous two schemes.

Moreover, Ancelotti will also have a very competent supporting cast to support these players. Modric is likely to depart, but there will be other names like Kroos, Ceballos, and Guler – if he does not leave on a loan- available to come later into the game. For the attack, there will be Brahim, Joselu, and Endrick, who will arrive in July, available to come in the latter parts of a match.
