While the defense and attack are not very far behind, it is the midfield where Real Madrid have got the most glittering pieces in world football assembled.

The Merengues have got a very good balance in this key area of the team, with highly experienced players like Luka Modric and Toni Kroos combining with up-and-coming stars like Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga.

Federico Valverde is another key player who has been playing at a very high level this season, and Jude Bellingham needs no introductions either as he has been one of the most decisive players for Real Madrid since his arrival last summer.

With all these players vying for playing time, it becomes very difficult for the fringe players to get on the pitch. According to MARCA, this is one of the reasons why the midfielder Dani Ceballos is rethinking his future, and considering an exit to become an important player with another team.

The Spaniard signed a long-term contract renewal only last summer, with which he is bound with the White club till 2027. Thus, his future at the club is certain to a high extent, but it is the present that bothers him.

This season, he has barely gotten on the pitch, not only because of the competition that he faces in the team but also because of his physical issues. He had to miss the pre-season tour of the USA due to a muscle tear and has suffered other problems as well. He returned to training with his teammates this week after missing the last game against Osasuna.

So far, he has got only one start in the league, another start in Copa del Rey, and two more starts in the UEFA Champions League. This is far from satisfactory for a player who aims to be a part of the Spain squad.

Things can improve as Real Madrid approach the final decisive stretch of the season. However, Nico Paz is also gaining a lot of traction to be a first-team player next season, and Ceballos will find his situation further worsened if this possibility becomes a reality. Thus, it is easy to understand why the midfielder is looking for a way out of the Madrid club.
