The October international break came at quite an opportune moment for Real Madrid. Although they were able to go into the break with a 2-0 win over one of the top teams in La Liga at this early phase of the campaign, Villarreal, this victory was pyrrhic at best as the Merengues saw their captain Dani Carvajal suffer a serious injury.

This injury is expected to keep the Spaniard out of action for the rest of the season, and missing such an important player can turn out to be disastrous for Los Blancos’ season. As things stand, they only have Lucas Vazquez to play in this position.

Real Madrid have announced the squad for the game against Celta Vigo, and after this heart-breaking injury, there is also some good news for the Vikings. For instance, Thibaut Courtois has returned from his abductor injury and is expected to take back his position between the sticks.

Similarly, Eder Militao and Vinicius Junior, who both also suffered injuries in the game against Villarreal, are also in this squad after missing the games for Brazil in the last international break.
