This September international break has been quite rough for Real Madrid. The Merengues have seen several of their players getting injured while on national team duties, leaving Ancelotti’s team in a very weak situation for the upcoming important stretch of the season.
Aurelien Tchouameni and Ferland Mendy got injured while training with the French national team, while Eder Militao also suffered a muscle injury while training with his Brazilian national team.
Thus, the Real Madrid coaching staff will reasonably have their fingers crossed so no more of their players suffer any more injuries in this international break.
In this regard, one event will be of particular relief for Ancelotti. Federico Valverde, who was one of the most used midfielder for Real Madrid last season, got a yellow card in the match between Uruguay and Paraguay and is suspended for his side’s upcoming game against Venezuela.
As he will not be able to participate in this second game of the international break, MARCA reports that Valverde will return to Real Madrid and join the rest of the team when they return to Valdebebas for training on Tuesday.
Valverde played the full match against Paraguay, and got the yellow card in the 37th minute of the game. Thus, he will now get a much-needed break of a few days after having played all the possible minutes with Real Madrid and his national team since the start of this season.
Meanwhile, there were some other good news for Ancelotti, especially related to the Real Madrid midfield. Arda Guler avoided an injury after having to leave the pitch in his last match against Wales, while Jude Bellingham was also reported to be nearing full recovery after spending two weeks in the infirmary.
Thus, along with Valverde, both these midfielders can be available for the upcoming match against Real Sociedad.
