Real Madrid star set to leave the club this summer

Date:

As the season comes to a close, the attention of Real Madrid is going to get more focused on the transfer market and player renewals. There is bad news awaiting the club as they can lose one of their bright stars for free in this transfer window.

The player in question is Marco Asensio, whose contract with Real Madrid ends after this season. According to the latest reports from Relevo, the Spain international has made his decision not to extend his stay at Santiago Bernabéu and will be looking to join another club this summer.

Real Madrid’s Director General, Jose Angel Sanchez, had been in talks with Asensio’s agent, Jorge Mendes, since December, but the two sides have not been able to reach an agreement. The main barriers to an agreement have been sporting, as the player has been offered increased wages.

However, he is demanding a greater role within the squad, especially to play in the important matches, which the club is unwilling to commit to at the moment.

Meanwhile, Asensio has several interested clubs lining up for him, but he has not yet made a decision about his upcoming destination. Several Premier League sides have made contact with the player’s entourage, as have other sides from the Serie A.

PSG is also interested in the player and also wanted to sign him in the winter window. The player will make a decision in this regard in the upcoming days. FC Barcelona were also interested in the player, but he would not consider a move to Spotify Camp Nou because of his ties with Real Madrid.

While not always being a starter, Asensio is leaving Real Madrid having won almost every possible trophy. He has won the 3 Champions Leagues, 4 Club World Cups, 3 La Ligas, 3 Spanish Supercopas, and 1 Copa del Rey with the club.

Thus, Marco Asensio’s exit from Real Madrid at the end of this season is looking increasingly likely. While not in the limelight as some other names at the Santiago Bernabeu, Asensio still leaves the club having won every major trophy.
