After a very successful 2023-24 season, Real Madrid are having a rather slow start to the 2024-25 season. The Merengues have drawn two of their four matches in La Liga up to now, and are currently four points behind the league leaders Barcelona.

But this slow start to the season looks vastly better when compared to the start of the season that Real Madrid Castilla is having. The B team has lost both of its matches in Group 2 of the Primera Federacion, and things are not looking very good for Raul’s boys as they are currently at the rock bottom of the category.

As Mundo Deportivo has noted, Castilla now have Villarreal B as their next opponent in the league, and Raul will be looking to get his first points on the table in this match. In the first two matches, his team fell 1-0 to Marbella away and then 0-1 to Ibiza at home.

Raul is facing a very difficult start to the season, and there are some clearly understandable reasons for this. For instance, he currently has around half his team injured, while also seeing some significant changes in his squad over the last summer transfer window.

However, his upcoming opponents, Villarreal B, are also not having a very good start to the season. They have drawn both of their first two games and currently stand in the middle of the league table. The Yellow Submarine subsidiary has also seen significant changes in its squad over the last summer transfer window and is still working to find its competitive rhythm.

Thus, both teams will be looking to get their first win in this new season. This might be Raul’s last season in charge of Castilla, so he will have to start getting some results if he wants to take the next step in his career with a good achievement to his name.
