Real Madrid return to the Santiago Bernabeu after two consecutive away fixtures, and will take on their city rivals Atletico Madrid. The Merengues sit at the top of the table after having won their game in hand against Getafe.

Los Blancos would not want to slip up and are expected to come out all guns blazing against Simeone’s side. Rüdiger was off at halftime in the previous match but is still named in the squad for the Madrid derby.

Defensively, the squad looks solid, but Ancelotti may not take any risks with Rüdiger, despite adding the German to the squad. The midfield has been solid but will be without Aurelien Tchouaméni after his appeal for a yellow card was turned down, meaning he will miss this match.

His absence will leave a hole in the side as the men in white are unbeaten when he starts and lost the last time they met their cross-town rivals in the league at the Wanda Metropolitano.
