An inch-perfect performance propelled Real Madrid to a comfortable 0-3 victory over Leganes as the Merengues returned to action in La Liga following the November international break.
Arda Güler was rewarded with a start along with Dani Ceballos and the rest of the lineup took shape as expectedly.
The Merengues looked a much better side as compared to what was seen before the international break.
Kylian Mbappe thought he had broken the shackles 9 minutes into the match after Vinicius found him in an empty space, but the goal was ruled offside.
Arda Güler’s brilliance was on display as some sumptuous dribbling from the Turk had the Leganes defence on their toes. The Real Madrid youngster almost scored a wonder goal in the 25th minute, but Marko Dmitrovic did well to keep him out.
That was not the only time Güler forced a saved as he made a strong attempt at goal from a free kick as well just a few minutes later.
Also in the midfield, Jude Bellingham was all over the place. From tackles to pressing to holding the ball and finding the right man, the Englishman showcased his class.
Finally, Los Blancos took the much-awaited lead after Camavinga and Bellingham helped Vinicius win the ball back, and the Brazilian, in a quick sprint, laid a pass to Mbappe, for the Frenchman to find the back of the empty net.
In the 2nd half, Leganes put on a better display for the first few minutes before Federico Valverde thumped a fabulous free kick after being set up by Ceballos and Güler.
This seemed like the game where Carlo Ancelotti seemed to have gotten the tactics right, as everything worked seamlessly – according to plan.
Jude Bellingham capped off a perfect game after heading home Real Madrid’s third goal of the night to seal the game as well.
Kylian Mbappe received the Man of the Match award after putting on a much better show this time around, playing on the left.
Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged that he made some tweaks as Mbappe was shifted to the left and Vinicius was a bit on the inside. This duo at their best can prove to be quite lethal and they seem to be finding their groove.
This victory takes Real Madrid to 30 points with a game in hand, which means they will be only 1 point behind Barcelona if they win this game in hand. Next up, Los Blancos travel to Anfield for the mega clash against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.
