Real Madrid return to their domestic commitments this weekend as the September international break concludes. The Merengues will be looking to continue building on the win that they got against Real Betis in the last match before the break.
However, the injuries that their squad has sustained over the last few days means Ancelotti will not have an easy task getting a win against Real Sociedad on Saturday, 14th September at the Anoeta.
Several players including Dani Ceballos, Aurelien Tchouameni, Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao, etc. suffered various injuries in the last few days, and thus join the likes of David Alaba, Jude Bellingham, and Eduardo Camavinga who are already recovering from their earlier issues.
In such a scenario, there is a piece of good news for Carlo Ancelotti as Mundo Deportivo reports that Eder Militao, who had suffered a muscle injury while training with the Brazilian national team, can still be available for the upcoming match against Real Sociedad.
Earlier tests on the Brazilian had not provided any clear indication on how long he will remain out of action. He will have to undergo more tests in the coming days to get a more specific idea about the issue he is facing, and thus decide whether he will be able to take the field against La Reale.
If he is able to make it in time for this match, his availability will be a massive boost for Ancelotti. The Italian tactician has only one first-team centre-back available, Antonio Rudiger.
While Vallejo is also available, he has not played any minute since last January, and thus is a far from reliable option. Ancelotti could also have deployed Tchouameni in the defence, but he is also currently injured.
But despite this scarcity of options in the centre of the defence, the Real Madrid medical team will not be in favour of rushing the return of Militao, and are planning to get him on the field only when he is 100% fit.
