Former Real Madrid forward identifies one key weakness in Ancelotti’s team

Date:

Carlo Ancelotti has a really star-studded Real Madrid team in his hands. On paper, having the best players in his squad will definitely be a blessing for the Italian tactician. However, he will have a very difficult job on his hands as he is expected to bring out the best of all the big names available to him.

This problem has already cost Real Madrid some points this season, as Kylian Mbappe continues to work to adapt to his new team, while the rest of the attacking lineup is also changing its playing style to ensure the Frenchman plays at his best.

This problem still persists at the Merengue club, and as MARCA has reported, one of the upcoming opponents of the white team, Takefusa Kubo, also highlighted this problem being faced by Real Madrid.

In this regard, the Japanese international said:

“That’s what we’re all seeing. In the end, I think the three up front play in the same position, and that may mean they’re not showing their best version. But since it’s not our team, we try to focus on our own matters.”

The Real Sociedad forward went on to share his idea on how the threat from Los Blancos can be minimised:

“Try to prevent them from hurting us. I think that’s the best way—trying to keep the ball for as long as possible because, in the end, when they have possession, they make you suffer.”

Kubo also identified a weakness in Kylian Mbappe that his team can benefit from:

“We suffer much more when he’s positioned on the wing than when he’s playing as a center forward. I think the same thing is happening in La Liga for now, and hopefully, things won’t go well for him tomorrow against us.

The best thing for us is that he doesn’t play on the wing because there he’s almost unstoppable. When he plays as a center forward, we’ll need to try and deal with that burst of speed he has that comes out of nowhere, and we’ll all need to help each other so that the player with the ball doesn’t have the freedom to look up and find him.”

Kubo and Mbappe will clearly be among the players that enjoy most of the spotlight in this upcoming crunch fixture between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad. The neutrals will be hoping that all the attacking talent on the pitch shines in this match to provide them with a good enjoyable match of football.
