The candidates for the upcoming Ballon d’Or award have been announced by France Football and FIFA. There are six Real Madrid players on this list, while Kylian Mbappe, who joined the Merengues last summer, has also been named for his performances with PSG and the French national team.
As is usually the case, this list has left a lot of players dissatisfied with their absences. One such player from Real Madrid is the Brazilian Rodrygo Goes, who played a very important role in his team’s success in the UEFA Champions League and La Liga last season.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Brazilian star gave hints about his disappointment as he published an image on social media.
This image is made up of six pictures in which the Brazilian can be seen holding the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga, and the UEFA Champions League trophies. Two other images show him celebrating important goals, while another image of him playing in Real Madrid colours.
This image was accompanied by only an emoticon of a laughing face and no other words. Still, it is easy to interpret this image as a sign of his dissatisfaction with the Ballon d’Or nominees list.
This situation further brings him into the spotlight at Real Madrid, after his importance in the team was diminished due to the arrival of Kylian Mbappe. Ancelotti’s attack is now being led by the trio of Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, and Kylian Mbappe, with the Frenchman replacing the Brazilian.
Furthermore, there have also been rumours of potential interest in him from the Premier League side Manchester City.
But with the transfer window only recently closed, he is set to remain at the club for the next few months. Hopefully, he will be able to put in some remarkable performances for Real Madrid after returning from his national team duties to put these rumours at rest for a while.
