After their 4-0 drubbing of Granada, Real Madrid returned to action in La Liga last night in a game that went even better for the Merengues, as they came out 5-0 winners in the match against Alaves.

As opposed to Granada, Alaves had to face Ancelotti’s best team, with only Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni missing from the lineup. Andriy Lunin was also on the bench for this game as Thibaut Courtois showed that he has really returned from his injury with his latest showing.

The Belgian was key at the defensive end for Real Madrid, while Bellingham, Vinicius, and Kroos dictated the play at the other end of the pitch. Several players stood out for Los Blancos in this match.

Here is how the Real Madrid players fared in the 5-0 victory against Alaves:

Player Ratings:

Thibaut Courtois: 8.0

While the scoreline suggests otherwise, Alaves had a fair share of chances that they failed to capitalize on mainly because of Thibaut Courtois. The Belgian made a big save in the very beginning of the match, and had to remain alert to the threat posed by the visitors throughout the night.

Dani Carvajal: 6.5

The Captain returned to the starting lineup after resting in the last match against Granada and showed his defensive skills as he had to cope with dangerous players like Luis Rioja and Ianis Hagi. The Spaniard also advanced up the pitch well to provide an outlet for his teammates, especially for Toni Kroos’ long balls.

Éder Militão: 6.0

The Brazilian has played the last few matches on a trot without any physical problems, but it is clear that he is still far from his best level. But the Brazilian was still up to the task of handling Alaves’ top scorer, Samu Omorodion.

Nacho Fernandez: 6.0

The Real Madrid captain helped control Omorodion as well, and was alright defensively, albeit some of his misplaced passes could have led to problems for the Merengues.

Ferland Mendy: 6.0

Once again, he put in a defensively astute display as he cut out several passes from Antonio Blanco to Alex Sola. The Frenchman also provided an outlet for Bellingham or Vinicius Junior when things got crowded on the left wing, but did not have to do much offensively.

Eduardo Camavinga: 8.0

The Frenchman’s mobility was clearly contrasting with the stability that Tchouameni provides in the center of the field. Covered a lot of ground, and also had his moment of glory as he advanced into the Alaves box and beat a defender to cut the ball for Vinicius to score his first goal.

Toni Kroos: 8.5

The German was once again at his best as he dictated the tempo of the game for Real Madrid with his impeccable passes. Frequently shifted the ball across the wings, and also put in an amazing pass which was capped off by Jude Bellingham to score Real Madrid’s first goal.

Fede Valverde: 8.0

The Uruguayan again provided a lot of energy to the Merengues’ midfield as he ran up and down the pitch. The Falcon also scored his third goal of the season as he blasted the ball past the Alaves goalkeeper at the cusp of half-time.

Jude Bellingham: 9.0

It was another great outing for the Englishman, who is clearly back in contention for the Pichichi after scoring his 19th La Liga goal this season. Also provided two assists in this game, but seemed frustrated for not getting the ball after getting into some good positions throughout the match.

Vinicius Junior: 9.0

The Brazilian got a brace in this match, but could have gotten at least a hat-trick had he been more efficient with the ball at his feet. Still, it was another impressive match from the Brazilian who kept the Alaves defense on its toes throughout the 90 minutes.

Rodrygo Goes: 7.0

Rodrygo Goes came close to scoring at multiple occasions in this match, but was ultimately unable to get his name on the scoresheet. Worked hard across all the attacking positions, and was impressive with the ball.
