Real Madrid completed most of their transfer business early in this summer’s transfer market, but there is one move that the club has not completed yet; Kylian Mbappe.
The Frenchman has been constantly linked with Real Madrid over the last few months, but nothing concrete has taken place yet, and the matter seemed to be calming down in recent days.
However, there are reports once again emerging that Real Madrid are looking to make one final push to sign the Frenchman before the transfer window closes.
As Marca reports, Los Blancos will make a final offer of around €120 million between August 29 and September 1, to try to bring Mbappe to the Spanish capital. The report further mentions that this plan has already been approved by the club’s board of directors.
Real Madrid will offer an amount that is somewhat less than what PSG were valuing their star player, i.e., €150 million.
However, PSG might find this offer irresistible because the Parisian club would risk losing Mbappe for free in 2024 otherwise, as the French winger has still not agreed to a renewal with the Parisians.
In fact, Mbappe has had a difficult start to his season at PSG. The French club, now being managed by Luis Enrique, previously did not allow Mbappe to train with the rest of their first-team players.
However, matters have improved in recent days, as Mbappe started training with the team this week and also made a second-half appearance in the second league match against Toulouse.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid also need a world-class striker to compete with the best teams in Europe. The Merengues have already brought in Joselu, but a better solution is still needed to complement the attacking talents of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, after the departure of Karim Benzema.
It would be safe to say that the Mbappe-Madrid drama can go on till the last days of this summer transfer window. There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the player right now, and it remains to be seen which club the French superstar will be representing in the coming weeks.
