Real Madrid survived a scare later on in the game but ensured a victory in their last league game against Alaves.

Kylian Mbappe, Rodrygo, Vinicius, Bellingham and Vazquez were all involved in the goals and some solid defensive performances from Rüdiger and Militao also helped Real Madrid get the full three points from this game.

The following ratings reflect how the Real Madrid players fared in this match.

Player ratings:

Thibaut Courtois: 6.5

A rare off day for the Belgian. Was heading towards keeping an easy cleansheet but was unable to keep out two goals in the space of a minute.

Lucas Vazquez: 7.5

Could not have gotten Madrid off to a better start as he opened the scoring from a Vinícius cross. Assisted Rodrygo as well but could have done better in defence as both goals conceded came from his flank.

Eder Militao: 7.5

A solid outing for the Brazilian who looked comfortable with the ball at his feet and contributed with some long balls, tackles, and blocks. Overall, this was more like the Militao we had known before his ACL.

Antonio Rüdiger: 7.0

The German formed a good partnership with Militao at the back and kept the Alaves attack at bay. As soon as Militao was taken off, the defence imploded. Being the senior-most defender, he could have done better.

Ferland Mendy: 7.0

Not reckless at all. Kept his cool throughout the match and made a couple of clearances to prevent the visitors from scoring the third.

Fede Valverde: 7.5

Despite playing all the minutes this season, he looks fresher than ever and put in yet another solid shift. Workhorse as always and helped Vazquez at times on the right flank. Combined well with Rodrygo on the wing as well. Deservedly taken off for the final 20 minutes.

Aurelien Tchouaméni: 7.0

The opening half was probably his best display of the season but looked shaky in the second half. As a defensive midfielder, could have done better to prevent the first goal.

Jude Bellingham: 8.0

Another day, another Jude Bellingham show. Running the midfield at 21 is not an easy feat but he does it day in and day out. Combined well with the attacking trio and ended up assisting Mbappe for the second goal.

Rodrygo: 8.5

Extends his purple patch with another delightful outing. Was a menace on the right and scored his third league goal through a fiery shot between the keeper’s legs – this also happened to be just his second shot at goal and the only one on target in this match.

Kylian Mbappe: 8.0

Could have had a brace to his name in the opening half and even a hattrick in the second half but ultimately had to settle for one goal. Caused all sorts of trouble and the world is slowly beginning to see the havoc he can cause with this squad. Had to leave the pitch with discomfort in his hamstring.

Vinícius Júnior: 7.5

Assisted Vazquez in the opening minute. Was causing trouble and even the Alaves manager went on to admit that the Brazilian is unstoppable despite being marked by two of his players. Later on, could have done better and just delayed the final pass/shot.

Substitutes:

Luka Modric: 6.5

Made a key pass and created one big chance but did not offer much in the final few minutes of the match.

Endrick: 6.5

Made some eye-catching dribbles and hit the crossbar minutes after coming on. Needs to be careful as he could have received a red card for a reckless kick.

Jesus Vallejo: 3.0

An utter disaster of a 10-minute cameo. Was the cause of both goals and looked shaky. Castilla centre-back, Jacobo Ramon should have been given a chance instead of him. It is a surprise how he is still at the club.

Arda Güler: 6.0

Did not have much to do up front but won some important duels and made three clearances to prevent any trouble.

Fran García: N/A

Not enough time on the field to warrant a rating.
