Official: Real Madrid squad for UEFA Champions League 2024-25

Date:

Last season, Real Madrid returned to their rightful place atop the European throne as they once again conquered the UEFA Champions League. With this win, the Merengues have now brought their UCL tally to 15, which is 8 more than the second-placed AC Milan.

With such dominance in the competition, it is natural to see the Champions League as the favourite competition of Los Blancos. The men in white clearly amp up their performances in this competition and have overcome great odds to survive and win the competition over the years.

After winning the final against Borussia Dortmund in June, Real Madrid are set to return to this competition with a new format, in which the group stage is replace by the league phase.

UEFA has already officially announced the Real Madrid squad for the upcoming edition of the competition. Real Madrid have named 31 players in this squad, with up to nine players from the youth academy.

Jeremy de Leon, who frequently travelled with the team and gained a reputation for being the good luck charm for Carlo Ancelotti last season, is surprisingly absent from the squad.

On the other hand, players like David Alaba, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Ceballos, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Ferland Mendy have all been named in the squad but will be unlikely to play in the first few matches as they are recovering from different physical issues.

Real Madrid start their UCL campaign on 17th September with a match against Stuttgart at the Santiago Bernabeu.
