Fran 8.5, Brahim 9.0 | Granada 0-4 Real Madrid: Player ratings

Date:

Real Madrid demonstrated their dominance with a commanding 4-0 victory over Granada, fueled by Brahim Díaz’s brace and additional goals from Arda Güler and Fran García.

Despite fielding a heavily rotated squad, the depth of talent was evident as every player showcased their abilities. This win underscores Madrid’s formidable bench strength, a crucial asset as they approach the final stretch of the season.

Furthermore, Los Blancos’ unbeaten streak in the league continues. With the La Liga title already secured, Carlo Ancelotti will continue to experiment with the team, as they have 3 games to go before the all-important UEFA Champions League final.

Here is how the Real Madrid players fared in the 0-4 victory against Granada.

Player Ratings:

Thibaut Courtois: 7.0

The Belgian was largely untested throughout the game. When he had to, he made two saves and was great with the ball at his feet as well. Another day, another clean sheet for the 32-year-old shot-stopper.

Lucas Vázquez: 7.5

A good display from the Spaniard. He made some great overlapping runs and was involved in the attack as well. He could have had an assist if Joselu had been clinical with his finishing. With 2 clearances, 5 tackles, and 6 duels won, it was a solid performance overall.

Éder Militão: 6.5

He is slowly getting back to full fitness, which is clearly visible with the ball at his feet. Decent at times but lost possession in a crucial area during the game, although the Granada attack could not take advantage of it. He’s not at his best so far. The Brazilian will look to change his fortunes in the remaining three games.

Antonio Rüdiger: 7.0

Expected to be rested for this game, Rüdiger was chosen to start. He proved to be too good at times for the opposition’s forward line, despite being untroubled for most of the game. It was a usual day at the office for the German.

Fran García: 8.5

By far the 24-year-old’s best performance this season. He was involved in both goals in the first half, taking his season’s tally to 6 assists and 1 goal. He made 3 tackles along with clearances and interceptions. He was not dribbled past even once. A display like this will surely keep him in Ancelotti’s plans next season.

Luka Modrić: 7.5

Another mesmerizing display from the Croatian. He weaved his magic in the midfield and glided past the Granada players with ease. He notched an assist and received a standing ovation when he was subbed off. At 38 years old, he is still at the top of his game.

Eduardo Camavinga: 8.0

One of his best games this season. He was all over the pitch throughout the game, blocking shots, making interceptions and tackles, and was rarely beaten in one-on-ones. Ancelotti has a player to count on in case Tchouaméni is absent against Borussia Dortmund.

Dani Ceballos: 7.0

A good performance from the Spaniard, much improved from his previous two matches. Although he lost possession a few times, he managed to provide an assist for one of Brahim’s goals. He will look to maintain this form in the remaining three games and perhaps secure his place in the squad for next season.

Arda Güler: 8.0

The Turk received his third consecutive start and ended up scoring his third goal of the season. For a player who did not play most of the first half of the season and was also rumored to leave on loan in the summer, the youngster has really turned things around and has won over the fans by now. He would look to see the season out with a few more goals.

Joselu: 6.0

Not the performance you would expect from a player who single-handedly took Madrid to Wembley by scoring a brace against Bayern Munich. The veteran striker was present in the box but was unable to take advantage. He could have scored an audacious backheel goal and on other occasions, it was either poor finishing or bad decision making.

Brahim Díaz: 9.0

Threatened to score in the 1st half but ended up providing an assist for Fran’s goal. Proved to be a menace in the 2nd half and ran riot as the Granada defence was unable to handle his quick runs and some good finishing. Now has 8 goals and 4 assists in 30 league games – not too bad for a backup player. Deservedly was awarded the man of the match.

Substitutes:

Toni Kroos: 6.5

To be honest, the German’s presence was not needed. Regardless, he came on, played some long balls, and made an interception. A decent cameo.

Nacho: 6.5

He came on for the final 20 minutes to give Rüdiger some rest. He blocked two shots and made an interception. The Real Madrid captain continues to showcase his good form and will aim to maintain it in the remaining games for Los Blancos.
