Vazquez 8.5, Bellingham 9.0 | Real Madrid 3-2 Barcelona: Player ratings

Date:

The Bernabeu faithful were treated to a classic – and chaotic game – between Real Madrid and arch-rivals FC Barcelona as it was the home side who emerged victorious in a 3-2 thriller.

Carlo Ancelotti started a heavily rotated lineup with Eduardo Camavinga and Lucas Vazquez starting as the left-back and right-back respectively and also Aurélien Tchouaméni starting as the center-back alongside Antonio Rüdiger.

The tired legs and exhaustion was visible despite that, it was the home side who got the three points. This is how the Real Madrid players fared in the 3-2 victory against FC Barcelona.

Player Ratings:

Andriy Lunin: 6.0

Not the best night for the Ukrainian shot-stopper. Could have prevented the first goal if he stayed in goal and did not try to clear the corner. Made another mistake which handed the rivals their second. Forgettable night for him.

Lucas Vazquez: 8.5

A performance Dani Carvajal would be proud of, watching from the bench. The Spaniard was involved in all the goals, earning a penalty, scoring the equalizer, and assisting Jude Bellingham for the third. Arguably his best night in the white shirt.

Aurélien Tchouaméni: 7.0

The Frenchman returned to the lineup after missing out the midweek game. He did well to keep Lewandowski quiet and held his ground well. Shifted to his natural position as a defensive midfielder when Militão was brought on late in the 2nd half.

Antonio Rüdiger: 7.0

A good game from the German but not his best game, by far. Was solid at the back and could not have done anything to prevent the two goals conceded.

Eduardo Camavinga: 6.5

Started the game as a left-back. His battle with Lamine Yamal proved to be exciting, with the Barcelona youngster getting the better of him a few times.

Toni Kroos: 6.5

Played his natural game and made a successful tackle, winning 2 out of 6 duels as well. His fatigue was visible, and he was taken off at the right time.

Luka Modrić: 7.5

This could have been the Croatian’s last El Clasico and he was the standout player in the midfield. Always a delight to watch on the ball and defensively did not make any errors as well.

Fede Valverde: 7.0

As always, the machine in the midfield. Ran up and down the pitch, covering for Vazquez at right-back multiple times through the game. A versatile player any European team would prefer having in their lineups.

Jude Bellingham: 9.0

The Englishman had a game to remember along with ending his goal drought as well. 62 touches, 2 chances created, 2 dribbles, won 8 duels out of 10, and made 4 tackles. Scored his third goal against Barcelona in as many Clasicos. Ballon D’Or incoming?

Vinícius Júnior: 7.0

Fair to say, it was frustrating to see him at times. He took some chances by himself when it could be seen that it was not the best option. He could have scored more than just the penalty he converted. But again, he scored in a big game and lived up to his reputation.

Rodrygo: 7.0

Shifted wings with his Brazilian partner and proved to be a threat at times to the Barca defence. A decent performance, overall.

Substitutes:

Fran García: 6.0

Replaced Camavinga at left-back. He did well to hold his ground, did not give the ball away, and made no mistakes whatsoever.

Brahim Díaz: 6.5

His performance was a bit sloppy. Could have scored in the 78th minute if Viní would have squared the ball to him. But also played his part in the storage time winner.

Éder Militão: 6.0

Got more minutes and is slowly getting into the groove. He won a duel and made a successful tackle as well.

Joselu: N/A

Not enough time to warrant a rating.
