Real Madrid have already signed contract with French star – report

Date:

The seemingly never-ending saga involving Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe now appears to be arriving at its conclusion. The Merengues have been trying to bring the French forward to the Santiago Bernabeu ever since he rose to prominence with Monaco, but various circumstances have kept the Whites from achieving this goal.

However, according to MARCA, the two parties have now already reached and signed an agreement under which Mbappe will be a Real Madrid player from 1 July 2024. The agreement was signed two weeks ago. This contract will see Mbappe become a Real Madrid player for the next five years.

The Frenchman has already informed PSG about his decision not to renew his current contract which ends this summer, and told the Parisians that he does not want them to offer him a new contract and he will also not exercise the option to extend his contract for a third optional year.

Contact between Real Madrid and Mbappe for this contract had started in January, when the player had less than six months left on his PSG contract. In these negotiations, Madrid let the Frenchman know that they want a definitive answer from him, and do not intend to sign him at all costs, as they already have stars like Vinicius and Bellingham in the team.

Thus, Mbappe’s desire to play for the Spanish club was vital for the success of this operation. The winger has also reduced his wages significantly to bring them in line with the wage structure at Real Madrid, but he will still be the highest-paid player in the team.

His annual salary will range between €15-20 million, and he will also receive significant bonuses. The player’s signing bonus will also be reduced, but his entourage understands that joining a club as big as Real Madrid will boost the value of the sponsorships that he receives.

Thus, overall, this operation would turn out to be a beneficial piece of business for both Real Madrid and Mbappe.
