24-year-old Real Madrid forward happy with his contributions this season

Date:

Real Madrid got a victory in their last La Liga match against Granada, an affair which was not really significant for either side as the Merengues had already secured the league title while their hosts had already been relegated before the match kicked off.

Still, this game allowed Carlo Ancelotti to put some of his less-used players on the pitch, as Courtois, Militao, Fran Garcia, Modric, Ceballos, Guler, Brahim, and Joselu all got into the starting lineup.

While several of these players shone in this match, the brightest star on the night was undoubtedly Brahim Diaz. He himself scored two goals for his side, while creating another one that was finished by Fran Garcia.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the forward talked to the media after the match, and showed a lot of respect and best wishes for the defeated side:

“I hope Granada returns to La Liga soon. We played the match with respect. After the high of this week, it wasn’t an easy game, and we competed in the best possible way with a great performance from everyone.”

Diaz went on to share that another Madrid attacker, Vinicius Jr., had advised him on how to attack Granada, and his first goal was clearly influenced from this advice:

“I dedicate the goal to Vini. He told me I was going to score a goal like the first one. He mentioned that when I carried the ball, they would spread out, and I should cut inside. I scored, and I dedicate it to him.”

“The second goal was a team play. The team has been incredible, and we all want to gather as many points as possible in La Liga. We also want to arrive in the best possible form for the Champions League final.”

Overall, the Moroccan international was quite happy with his contributions to the team this season:

“I have 12 goals and 7 assists. There are several games left, and I will try to do more. It’s very easy to play with my teammates because they make it easy for me to score goals. Also, when I provide assists, they know how to score the goals.”

“This is thanks to the teammates, and the most important thing is the titles. We have won the Spanish Super Cup, the League, and now we want the Champions League.”

Having already won the league title, Brahim was also looking forward to celebrating this achievement with the fans:

“We have the best fans, and they’re all over the world. It gives me goosebumps, and I can’t wait to experience it. I’ve seen on TV the celebrations at Cibeles, the bus tour, and the celebration with the fans. When I was here before, COVID happened, and I couldn’t celebrate it, but now I will be able to.”

Lastly, the forward shared how united the dressing room is, and also praised Modric who was the creator of his second goal:

“We are not just friends; we are a family. This group is incredible. Any one of us is up to the level of demand of Real Madrid, which is the best club in the world. I wanted to thank Modric for his assist because he is a phenomenon and a master.”
